For the third time, Georgia joined the 16th FELASA Congress, which recently took place in Athens.
The Georgian delegation was led by Karen Mulkijanyan, Head of the Department of Preclinical Pharmacological Research at the Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry (TSMU) and a member of the FELASA Board. As a member of the Congress Scientific Committee, Mr. Mulkijanyan chaired two plenary sessions and three poster sections. These sessions focused on:

Institutional transparency in animal-based science;

Animal models;

Enhancing communication within animal research.
Additionally, he delivered a presentation titled: "Collaborative Governance for Ethical Animal Research: Bridging Gaps Between Government, Institutions, and NGOs."
Global Participation
The congress hosted over 2,000 delegates from more than 30 European countries, as well as representatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, and the USA.
